The research group of Prof. Dr. Steffen Glaser is looking for a research associate to work on the research project "Combination of machine learning and optimal control methods for the efficient design of high-fidelity quantum operations for applications in quantum computing and spectroscopy" as soon as possible.
The field of work at the project includes research in machine learning, quantum technology, quantum computing, optimal control of quantum systems. The combination of modern machine learning methods with powerful numerical optimal-control methods promises to significantly improve and accelerate the design of precise and robust pulse sequences for the experimental realisation of quantum operations. Potential applications will focus on established quantum technologies such as nuclear spin imaging and nuclear spin spectroscopy, but also especially on new quantum technologies and quantum computing platforms.
The project is part of MQV and the Munich Centre for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST) and offers diverse opportunities for cooperation with theoretically and experimentally working research groups.
Your profile
Applicants should have very good knowledge and experience in the field of (classical) machine learning/ reinforcement learning. Knowledge of optimal-control methods and / or quantum technologies would be helpful, but is not mandatory and can be acquired in the course of the project.
