SHAPING THE QUANTUM REVOLUTION
At Munich Quantum Instruments, we develop scalable photonic quantum sensors that can be applied in breakthrough discoveries and disruptive applications such as optical quantum computers, quantum sensing, deep space optical communication, and quantum communication. Our mission is to make quantum phenomena accessible on an industrial scale, enabling everyone to benefit from the upcoming quantum revolution. We believe that quantum technologies are truly disruptive and will enable novel applications, much like how the internet revolutionized our daily lives. Join us in improving our technology to the needs of tomorrow’s quantum applications already today!
YOUR MISSION
The detectors developed by MQI are based on superconductors that are patterned in a meandering shape with dimensions below 100nm. To this end, state-of-the-art nanofabrication tools for electron beam and optical lithography, thin film deposition and other techniques are required to ensure high quality and yield. As Nanofabrication Engineer your work matters. You are going to produce the chips for customer projects including the European Space Agency (ESA). You will also improve our existing processes and have a direct impact on the detector performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Chip & wafer designs based on existing concepts & code
- Electron beam and optical lithography as well as SEM & AFM
- Reactive Ion etching and electron beam evaporation
OUR OFFER
You will benefit from:
- Being part of an exciting deep-tech startup, where your work matters
- Shaping the upcoming quantum revolution by optimizing our innovative products
- Mutual respect and a shared mission
- Dynamic, international & highly motivated team
- An environment where you can grow and develop your skills
- Direct support and agile working conditions, which values good work
- Additional bonus payments based on successful project completions
- Pick your perk benefit program
- 30 vacation days
- Great team spirit & team events
YOUR PROFILE
You are a motivated & experienced engineer with a passion for quantum, optoelectronics, and analysis tools. Your technical expertise within a collaborative team enables you to develop innovative solutions. Experience:
- PhD or master's degree in Physics, Nanotechnology, or similar
- At least 2 years of professional experience, ideally in quantum technology, the semiconductor industry, or nanodevices
- Hands-on experience with EBL, opt. litho, RIE, SEM, .. and python
- Conceptualizing, conducting experiments and able to prioritize
YOU ARE
- An independent & agile mind with a lot of self-initiative
- Highly motivated & committed
- An excellent worker eager to learn new things and grow
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
If you are ready for this opportunity to shape the future of quantum detection technologies while contributing to groundbreaking projects, we look forward to your application!
