published since:

Your mission

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to join our team for an exciting project involving the programming of an off-the-shelf laser show system and creating marketing material for it to showcase our company’s offerings. The marketing material could involve animations of how our quantum computers do gates, shuttle atoms/qubits around, and more such concepts – there is room for creativity on how this would look like!

This role is a unique hybrid position that combines technical programming skills, creative marketing insights, and an interest in laser technology. If you are passionate about quantum technology and marketing, and eager to work on an innovative project, we want to hear from you!

The project is anticipated to take about 3 months working full time, or 6 months working part time.

Your role & responsibilities:

  • Program and configure an off-the-shelf laser show system to display customized marketing content.
  • Discuss the concepts of our quantum computer with our experts to distill them into core marketing concepts to show to a wider audience.
  • Create and design marketing materials, including graphics, animations, and visuals, to be showcased in the laser shows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the laser show system.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during the setup and operation of the laser system.
  • Test and refine the laser show to ensure optimal performance and alignment with marketing goals.
  • Document the programming process and create user manuals or guides as needed.

Your Profile

Necessary requirements:

  • A relevant Bachelor or equivalent experience.
    • For example, relevant topics include Physics, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, ...
  • At least one of the following:
    • Programming skills (e.g. Python)
    • Experience working with lasers
    • Marketing skills (e.g. in design, communication, creative thinking)
  • Existing right to work in Germany (we are unable to sponsor Visa applications for this position)

 Supplementary skills:

  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of laser safety to ensure safe operation.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose technical issues effectively.

If you have professional experience in electronic engineering and have substantial proficiency in some of the listed supplementary skills, we are happy to receive your application.

Why us

planqc is a startup founded by experienced researchers in neutral-atom quantum technologies. Our electronic projects are an essential part of the quantum hardware and also connecting to the software stack. This makes working at planqc very versatile and creates the opportunity to apply and learn a lot of different state-of-the-art technologies. In our agile working environment, we make it possible to shift and rotate between projects depending on the current needs and personal preferences.

At planqc, you will actively contribute to building a functional neutral atom quantum computer. Become part of our team and shape the future of quantum computing!

About us

planqc's quantum computers store information in individual atoms – nature's best qubits. Quantum information is processed by arranging these qubits in highly scalable arrays and manipulating them with precisely controlled laser pulses. planqc’s unique combination of quantum technologies is the fastest way to scale to thousands of qubits, a prerequisite for industry-relevant quantum advantage.

planqc's founding team combines decades of international research on neutral-atom quantum technologies. Our quantum computers are built on the precision of the world’s best atomic clocks, the world’s best quantum gas microscopes, and high-speed Rydberg gates.

planqc is the first startup to emerge from the Munich Quantum Valley, which with its vast network of research institutes and industrial partners fosters a unique quantum ecosystem for startups.
