Every year on 3 October, the action day "Türen auf mit der Maus" ("Open the doors with the mouse") popular WDR children's program takes place and allows a glimpse behind otherwise closed doors. This year, Munich Quantum Valley is also taking part and informing visitors about technologies and research in the field of quantum computing. Visitors of all ages can get to the bottom of the question of what exactly quantum computers are and in which areas future quantum computers could be used. Components of a real quantum computer and an interactive game on the basic principles of quantum mechanics make the abstract topic vivid.
The Munich Quantum Valley offer is part of a diverse program at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics with laboratory tours, lectures, experimental and hands-on stations. There, the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), the Cluster of Excellence Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST), and Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) are organizing a joint Maustag and Open House with a program for children, youth, and adults. The entire program at the MPQ can be found here: https://www.mpq.mpg.de/6858448/10-tag-der-offenen-tuer-maustag
You can download the program including a map here: Program (PDF) [in German]
The Open House and Maustag at MPQ is embedded in a variety of activities for young and old at the entire Garching Research Campus. For all events, please visit the overview page [in German]: https://forschungscampus-garching.de/
