MQV Girls'Day 2022: For more women power in quantum physics

Fakultät für Physik der LMU

This year, Munich Quantum Valley is taking part in Girls' Day for the first time.

The program revolves around quantum cryptography. With the help of simple experiments, the students learn about important properties of light, such as polarization. The question of what light particles – so-called photons – are and which rules apply to these quantum particles will be investigated. Likewise, their use for the secret key exchange in quantum cryptography is illustrated.

The highlight of the program is a tour through one of our scientific laboratories, where current research on quantum cryptography is carried out. Here the students can see up close where quantum physicists do their research every day.
