The machine presented - "QD m.0" - is the world's first commercially available quantum device designed for semiconductor failure analysis. To analyze defects, Quantum Diamonds uses its atom-sized quantum sensors. Thanks to magnetic imaging, (quantum) computer chips can be characterized and analysed in 3D non-destructively and with minimal sample preparation. Errors in the increasingly complex chip architectures are thus precisely identified – the start-up promises the elimination of costly test methods and a more efficient production flow.
After a speech by Digital Minister Dr. Fabian Mehring and the official product presentation, a panel discussed Europe‘s role in semiconductor manufacturing. Finally, the guests were able to visit the start-up's laboratories.
